What is a Makerspace?

Makerspaces are sometimes referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs are creative, do-it-yourself spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn.

Why create a Makerspace?

In order to support critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration, makerspaces have been developed to provide time and space for students to expore, create, fail and retry, and collaborate with others to build things.

Where is our Makerspace?
We are starting with two areas by gradually adding materials to sections of our Middle School and High School libraries. The elementary schools will eventually join in our makerspace madness! These areas will be the hub for creative tinkering. Click here to see how Dutch Makerspaces got started.

Domino Challenge

The goal of the domino challenge was to create a run that included dominoes at different heights. Artistic design was also part of the fun!
